Werner Mannaers is born in Schoten in 1954, and currently living and working in Antwerp, Werner studied at Sint Lucas in Ghent and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Over the years, he has built a body of work that continues to move, surprise, and challenge us.
His paintings and drawings are rhythmic, intuitive, layered, reaching for something essential and deeply human.
His work has graced top museums like Museum of Modern Art in New York and Paris and was celebrated in a solo exhibition at S.M.A.K. in Ghent, where it now lives permanently in the collection.
Werner has previously exhibited and worked with Almine Rech, whose continued support we warmly acknowledge and whose vision we are proud to carry forward as we represent Werner in this new chapter.
